Review

This review applies to version 1.6 The latest version of this software will soon be reviewed by our informers.

PicLens for Internet Explorer 1.6.3 allows you to view full sized photos on popular sites.

This add-on for Internet Explorer (there are also versions for Firefox and Safari) allows you to view full sized images when you browse pages like Flickr, Facebook, Friendster, Picasa Web Albums, image search results from Google and Yahoo, web sites supporting Media RSS, and many others. In this version, the program even can search and retrieve still images from videos posted in YouTube.

PicLens for Internet Explorer 1.6.3 must be activated from your IE Toolbar to run.

Doing that will present you PicLens Search Page. In the Search Dialog you can put whatever you like, and the program will bring you the results matching your desired criteria.

The found pictures will be displayed in Small Size on a photo wall.

You can move the photo wall by clicking and dragging your mouse pointer.
If you click on the images, PicLens will zoom to show you the full size of the picture.
By clicking anywhere outside the image, the images will be sent back to the prior size.
Advantages
  • It´s a nice tool to search and view photos on the Internet.
Disadvantages
  • There are still few sites supported. It´s annoying that PicLens shuts when you open another program or use the Alt-Tab keystroke.
